The 35-year-old veteran of the Japan Golf Tour will be making his first U.S. Open start after earning one of the three available spots at Ibaraki Golf Club on May 22. His best finish on the JGT is second when he lost a playoff to Keita Nakajima in the 2021 Panasonic Open Golf Championship.
This will be his second start in a major championship, following a missed cut in the 2021 Open Championship. He also tied for 39th at the 2021 Zozo Championship in his only other PGA Tour start.
